Heat = Flip-flops as if the wet sound of the word could instantly cool the feet. It's amazing how many pairs of thongs I saw yesterday, no more gladiators but thongs all over. As far as I'm concerned I wear them exclusively at the beach, which means few days in Summer and when the weather is fine (I'll go to the Opal Cost). Few years ago I bought real expensive Patrick Cox's snake style-thongs. Beautiful killer shoes. I wore them on one occasion, a date with a charming man, and when I arrived my feet were bleeding. Call it glamorous! So no more Patrick Cox in my dressing. But I did it again (I can be stubborn sometimes) and chose some Camper with red varnished leather straps, pretty on my feet but fatal for my skin. Since then they are stocked in a closet in the countryside anf I barely take them out. No more Camper, we know the story by now. So I I really admire all the Parisian girls I saw walking easily with flip-flops at their feet.
But if you consider the researches done at Auburn University Alabama which concluded that walking with thongs can result in sore feet, ankles and legs and pain from the foot up to the hips and lower back. Flip-flop wearer take shorter steps, their heels hit the ground with less vertical force and sometimes they tend to grip flip-flops with their toes. And all that my friend can bring real pain. So they conclude that we can wear them at the beach or at home but that they are not designed to properly support the foot and ankles during all-day wear.

But if we had to listen to all the advices of researchers and specialists, we would have give up wearing high heels long ago. And we still do it, don't we?
